Your details stay yours.

Twofold Worlds is operated by Otherline Limited, company number 17420075, registered in England and Wales. Registered office: Unit 29 Highcroft Industrial Estate, Enterprise Road, Horndean, Waterlooville, United Kingdom, PO8 0BT. For privacy requests, email hello@twofoldworlds.com.

Our optional newsletter signup is open. We add you to the newsletter only after you choose to subscribe and confirm your email address.

Direct checkout and your email choices

For printable orders, we use your email, selected packs, price, delivery acknowledgement and payment references to perform the purchase contract, provide downloads and handle support. Stripe’s embedded payment form collects card and billing details directly; our server does not store card numbers or full billing addresses. We check billing country and Cloudflare’s connection-country signal for UK checkout eligibility. Cloudflare stores the order and private files, and Brevo sends your receipt and recovery link. Physical-book fulfilment is not connected to this checkout.

Essential secure cookies and on-device storage keep your basket, payment attempt and download session associated with this browser. Recovery links are private, single-use links; our database stores token hashes rather than the usable link. We use a daily changing keyed hash of the connection IP, not the raw address, to limit abusive checkout requests. These safeguards support our legitimate interest in preventing fraud, duplicate payments and unauthorised downloads.

Buying does not subscribe you to marketing. Newsletter signup is a separate optional choice with email confirmation. Purchase receipts disable open and click tracking; delivery and security records remain necessary to provide the service. We retain order, payment and consent records as needed for fulfilment, support, disputes and applicable accounting/legal obligations, and review their retention separately from the shorter download-access windows. You can ask us about, or request deletion of, your information subject to those obligations.

We do not sell your personal information or share it with other businesses for their own marketing. Service providers process necessary information to take payments, deliver downloads and emails and protect the service. Some providers also process information for their own legal, security or regulatory duties. Read Stripe’s privacy information and the provider notices below.

What we collect and why

The optional newsletter service is for adults. It asks for an email address and, optionally, your first name — not children’s information. With your explicit consent and email confirmation, we use those details to send the Twofold Worlds newsletter, including new book launches, colouring ideas, printable activities, other news and occasional offers. The consent box starts unticked. Signing up is not required to browse, download a sample or buy the books. Earlier subscriptions retain their original preferences and do not automatically become newsletter subscriptions.

We keep your submitted choices and confirmation/withdrawal records to manage subscriptions. Brevo processes the form and email delivery; Cloudflare hosts and protects the website and supplies the anti-spam check. These services process technical information such as IP address, browser information and delivery/security events. Our business inbox uses Google Workspace to handle replies and requests. We do not sell subscriber details or upload them to advertising audiences.

Your choices and how long we keep information

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails here, use the unsubscribe link in a marketing email, or email us to stop all messages or only one type. Withdrawing does not affect earlier lawful processing. We use consent for the requested emails, and our legitimate interests in operating a secure service, handling requests and maintaining minimum suppression records to avoid contacting people who have opted out.

Details supplied for a one-off notification are kept until that request has been fulfilled and any delivery queries resolved, then removed from active use for that purpose. Newsletter details are kept while that consent remains current. We review whether data is still needed and retain only necessary consent, suppression, security or legal records afterwards. You may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy where applicable, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

Providers, technical data and external links

The animated entrance remembers only that you have entered during your current browser-tab session, so it does not interrupt you again as you browse. This on-device setting contains no personal identifier and is not sent to us.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand page visits and site performance without analytics cookies or persistent visitor identifiers. Our separate counters record Amazon-link clicks by book edition and marketplace, free-sample download-link clicks, and whether the opening screen is shown and releases the main page. They use the page and a limited set of source, campaign and creative categories, with test events and non-purchase actions kept separate. They do not store names, email addresses, IP addresses or individual visitor identifiers in the event dataset. Cloudflare still processes technical connection information to deliver and protect these services. The counters respect supported Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. A download-link click does not prove the file was saved, and an opening-screen completion can include an automatic fallback. These aggregate measurements help us improve the website; they do not identify individual customer journeys or confirm purchases.

We do not add advertising pixels. Brevo processes subscription, consent, delivery and security records. Account tracking is consent-based; unknown tracking consent is treated as No, and purchase receipts explicitly disable open/click tracking. The signup service is not anonymous. We do not treat an open or click as a purchase. The anti-spam service checks browser signals to limit automated submissions. Cloudflare processes these signals on our behalf to protect the form and as a separate controller to improve its bot detection, as explained in its Turnstile privacy notice. These checks do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you.

Our providers and their subprocessors may process information outside the UK, including in Europe and the US. The applicable provider terms describe transfer safeguards, such as adequacy arrangements and contractual safeguards where required; contact us for details. Read Brevo’s privacy information, Cloudflare’s privacy information and Google’s privacy information. If you follow a retail link, that retailer handles browsing, orders and payment under its own terms.

For help with an earlier purchase, email hello@twofoldworlds.com with your order reference. We use only the information needed to resolve your query and meet any applicable record-keeping duties. Earlier purchases do not subscribe you to marketing.

Our book purchase links open Amazon, where Amazon handles checkout and delivery under its own privacy notice and terms. We do not take book payments on this website or add Amazon buyers to our email lists.
